"We heard so much about this property and were overwhelmed by it's beauty, tranquility and overall experience. We dined in our kimonos in our room with lovely service and food. My daughter had a massage and I had a facial while we were there and they were outstanding. It's very close to be transported to the volcanic valley which was an extra treat."

"The hotel had a charming, nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, featuring a lavish buffet dinner and comfortable, relaxing rooms. Our room included both a Western-style bedroom with beds and a traditional Japanese-style room with futons, so we could choose whichever was more comfortable. There were plenty of activities to enjoy at the hotel, including fishing, swimming in the pool, and candle-making workshops. We also had fun with the treasure hunt and mystery-solving games held throughout the hotel....

"Stunning hotel with amazing views across the lake, floor-to-ceiling windows in our room which was fantastically 1970s design in very high quality. The onsen overlooking the lake was also glorious. The breakfast. Buffet was fantastic and the staff were brilliant. Hakone’s sightseeing boat goes from next door and is a must."
