It is a pretty new place, but it was a good experience, 20 meters away from the train station, little India and lots of places to eat an explore, the room was very good.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good stay at the Carlton. The good: it’s a great location, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are well maintained. The bad: The bathroom of the hotel was infested with bugs. When I showered, there were dozens of little flies around me and landing on me. The shower and sink had mildew and mold in them. And the breakfast buffet was very minimal and low quality food. These wouldn’t be huge issues if I was staying in a cheap hotel or hostel, but for 300-400 per night, I expect better. When I raised the bug issue with the hotel upon checking out, I received a curt response of, “I’m sorry to hear that. Thank you for staying with us.” A follow up email was more helpful, offering me a free upgrade on my next stay, and that the “issue with the bugs was just with my room and not a broader concern.” Given the issues and the service, I will not be staying here again so the upgrade is not helpful. I travel to Singapore 5-6 times a year and there are hotels on the same class and price range that offer a much better experience.

Lack of communication between manager and employee. guest service agent on the phone were helpless, reject everything when first ask, for example: ask if room is ready? Answer: no,at least one and half hour later. When I mentioned I saw a room was ready. He changed immediately said yes there’s a room ready….. the manger was promised sth, when I called on the phone, still got no no we don’t provide this. After I mentioned promise from manger, the answer changed to yes. ( no message put in the system??) Also bedleg was loosing it was like a teeter board. Bathroom door cannot be closed properly….. awful experience ever
