“We stayed for 3 nights in the Hetton bedroom.
Very clean, lovely bathroom and comfy bed.
Just the pillows that I didn’t get on with.
Breakfast was great, plenty of choice both hot and cold.
On two of our three evenings we ate in the inn and the food was great, cannot fault any of it.
Lovely, friendly staff.
Great position for travelling to all the sights in Northumberland.
We will definitely stay again.”
“Excellent location for visiting different area's around Northumberland. All the rooms look to wards the coast, so the noise from the main road is hardly noticeable when in your room, and lovely cooked breakfast to start you day.”
“Lovely location. Property set in well maintained grounds with view of the river.
We ate one night in the restaurant.Nice food including the breakfasts”
“Self access = soulless. Didn't see another person. Empty tables in the dining room felt like the Marie Celeste.
Breakfast in a bakery and fridge in the room.
Very expensive for what it was.
Very dim lighting.”
“Really nice 3 star close to Lindisfarne. Perfect for judging the crossing times to the island and close enough by car to Berwick upon Tweed for a great choice of restaurants. Banburgh Castle is also close-by.”
“We had a very comfortable stay at the wheatsheaf in Swindon, staff were friendly and welcoming, a bar that was open for drinks and places to sit and relax. Our room was comfortable although window wouldn’t stay open to let in fresh air as it was a warm day outside. Our even meal was delicious with a good choice of menu. Breakfast was also good and the service was swift. a great start to our day. All in all an enjoyable stay would revisit this hotel again in the future.”
“We stayed one Saturday night in early August. A nice welcoming hotel with ample parking. We had a premier room which was very comfortable, quiet, and had pleasant views over the gardens. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and reminded us that everything in the minibar was complimentary! As we’d eaten prior to arriving, the snacks and drinks - both alcoholic and soft were just enough to keep us satisfied until our good night’s sleep. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and served in...
“This accommodation is very well located in the Kelso town square and within easy walking distance to pubs, cafes and restaurants. The bakery to the left of the front door is outstanding for home cooked morning rolls and beautiful cakes.
Apartment 1 is spacious, clean and has everything you need despite the furnishings being a bit dated. Note this accommodation may not be suitable for those with mobility issues due to the stairs to all rooms. This is a great base for trips to Lindisfarne,Bamburgh...
“Hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. However, it was a very old hotel and the breakfast was not good at all. It’s good to stay a night but not for a week as we did. Charling village but no good restaurant nearby.”
“The staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming, the room was great, and we really enjoyed the spa facilities. There’s a lot to like about the hotel and it’s clear that the team are trying hard to provide a special experience.
That said, for the price of the stay, I felt it was missing just a little bit of the “wow factor” that would take it from a very good hotel to a truly exceptional one.
The main disappointment was dinner service. We weren’t offered drinks when we sat down, and our mains...
