As a budget getaway for some sun/swimming/partying, it’s fine. The food is fine if you’re into that (a little oily/repetitive for my taste, but I’m not a foodie, what do I know?), the staff is very friendly (service can be a little slow and inconsistent; one night a staffer escorts you to your table, places your napkin on your lap, all very formal—the next you might have to grab a menu from the hostess stand yourself, find a seat, and wait a while for anybody to take your order.
If you enjoy noise/activity, this is for you; next to the international port (and a LOUD Señor Frogs), with live performances in the dining area most nights. They do have some nice lounge areas, but they sell day passes to people coming off the ships, so daytime is busy, almost like a public pool. People seemed to enjoy themselves, it’s just not my scene. The grounds are fine; the fake rock walls around the "beach" are crumbling and dated, the sauna doesn’t work, but if you stand right over the heating element, you can still break a sweat—from that position, you’ll be making inadvertent eye contact through the window with everyone exiting the women’s bathroom. The gym was better than I expected, and nobody used it, so access was easy. Rooms/halls feel old/tired. Near a bougie shopping center if you like that.
I prefer a quiet escape; I want to listen to the waves, swim, nap in the breeze, and read. This isn’t the place for that.
Overall, it’s fine. Not my scene, but you might love it.
