“This is a lovely property conveniently located on a hill overlooking Keswick and near the many attractions in and around Keswick. Our room was substantial with a comfortable bed and sitting area. Breakfast was tasty and varied, eagerly accommodating a special request. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Definitely recommend and would stay here again on a return visit.”

“Stayed here a few nights after arriving from the US before moving on to other areas in the Lakes. Excellent location in the heart of Kendal convenient to restaurants and shops. Enjoyed a nice hike right from our door along the river and up to the castle.”

“We stayed in this hotel for just one night on our way back from the Highlands of Scotland. I wish we had booked for longer. A beautiful building, parking on site, a large warm room and very cheerful staff. The breakfast was brilliant with table service for a cooked breakfast, which was presented with care and cooked to perfection. We are going to return at a later date for a longer stay and to use the facilities!”

“Overall my stay was satisfactory, but the level of noise coming from back of house staff late at night was appalling. My room was directly above the kitchen/loading area and it was honestly unbelievable how much noise the staff were making "cleaning up" in the evening, consistently from about 8pm-11:30pm when I had enough. It was like they were literally throwing metal containers around and shouting across the space at full volume. I live in central London and have never experienced disruption...

“Very pleasant stay. Food offerings not as good as I had hoped, especially in the Grill. Disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday but afternoon tea was good. Staff attentive and rooms clean. Lovely setting.”

“A traditional Cumbrian house now guest house. Lovely building situated very close to Keswick centre less than 10 minutes walk. Lovely little room, the Myrtle. Very nice breakfast which is cooked to order. Specials options which are a welcome change from the traditional. Nice lounge with TV to relax. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pack lunches can be ordered and there are drinks and snacks available to be purchased throughout your stay. Car parking is on street and busy if lucky you may get some...

“Not very clean in the room and toilet,curtains was hanging off the runner's. There are 2 main roads each side of the hotel and it was very noisy.when booking they did say they didn't have a car park,but it was ok to use the hotel across the road,there isn't an hotel across the road.the only parking was a cricket club 500mtrs plus down the Rd to park at”
