Disney's Boardwalk, Bay Lake hotel rooms at the SPM Resorts

"Checking in was easy, but the room wasn’t ready which was hard to believe. Once we did get our room we had a rolling bed in there and couldn’t figure out why. Then when we went to sleep, figured out why. The room we paid for was two double beds. Turned out the hotel knew the one bed was completely broken and unable to sleep on. However, they still had the bed made up appearing to be just fine. I purposely make sure we stay at the dolphin whenever we go to Orlando which is 6+ times a year. So this was a disaster and totally uncalled for. Wish the hotel would have made us aware of offered a better room etc considering we paid $800+ for the two day stay. Also, the bathtub was dirty and they never warned us that their parking lot was being remodeled. So the valet man told us either do valet or park at the swan and walk 45 min back with your luggage… so we also got charged $60 a night to do valet. Once again, I wish the hotel would have warned us about all of this or done something to accommodate. Super disappointed. "

"From the moment we got to Cabana Bay it was all positive! Check in staffer Jonathan was amazing! Great conversationalist, quick and friendly! We even got a free upgrade on room and view! Room was clean. Pool had plenty of seating in spite of the typical chair hogs. Lifeguards were plenty and attentive. Security was great and key cards were needed to get into the pool area. Fitness center was well equipped! Beautiful resort. Would recommend 10/10 and will be back. "

"Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We booked specifically for the family amenities, especially the slides and lazy river, only to find out AFTER check-in that they were closed. Nobody informed us beforehand or during check-in, and had we known, we never would have booked here. The staff and supervisors were very unprofessional, dismissive, and completely unapologetic throughout our stay. One of our children had a nosebleed that left blood on the floor, and not only did nobody check on her wellbeing, staff told us there was nobody available to assist or clean it. The blood remained there for the rest of our stay, which was unsanitary and unacceptable. The most concerning issue was a raccoon freely roaming around the children’s pool area, taking guests’ food and going through belongings while children were nearby. Staff only attempted to shoo it away with a broom multiple times and never contacted wildlife control or properly addressed the safety concern. Between the hidden amenity closures, poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, and unsafe conditions, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. I would not recommend staying here."

"I will definitely be back so nice and clean , great friendly and helpful staff . Lazy river and kids pool were well kept lots of lounge chairs and space very close to a main strip with food and activities."

"After a wonderful 4-day stay at the Gaylord Palms, we couldn’t extend our time there and needed a new place strategically located in the middle of our planned travels. Price wasn’t an issue for us, but we were pleasantly surprised by the lower cost here. Unfortunately, that’s where the pleasant surprises ended. Westgate Lakes is essentially an apartment complex converted into a resort, and it shows. The initial presentation is nice, but once you look closer, you notice builder-grade doors and cheap materials throughout. When we got to our room, things went downhill fast: plumbing issues, no water pressure, and a missing handheld shower wand. There were no full-size mirrors, and despite specifically requesting a quiet location, the noise continued until 1:00 a.m. Honestly, the whole place felt sketchy at best. Cleanliness was a real problem. The hallways were dirty, and there were dirty diapers and food left on the steps leading into our room. There were plenty of other issues, but the bottom line is we will never stay here again. For some, the low price might outweigh these problems—but not for us. "
