"After a wonderful 4-day stay at the Gaylord Palms, we couldn’t extend our time there and needed a new place strategically located in the middle of our planned travels. Price wasn’t an issue for us, but we were pleasantly surprised by the lower cost here. Unfortunately, that’s where the pleasant surprises ended.
Westgate Lakes is essentially an apartment complex converted into a resort, and it shows. The initial presentation is nice, but once you look closer, you notice builder-grade doors and cheap materials throughout. When we got to our room, things went downhill fast: plumbing issues, no water pressure, and a missing handheld shower wand. There were no full-size mirrors, and despite specifically requesting a quiet location, the noise continued until 1:00 a.m. Honestly, the whole place felt sketchy at best.
Cleanliness was a real problem. The hallways were dirty, and there were dirty diapers and food left on the steps leading into our room. There were plenty of other issues, but the bottom line is we will never stay here again.
For some, the low price might outweigh these problems—but not for us.
