“Our family of 4 really enjoyed staying here. It really does have a whimsical feel to it, and we were instantly happy and excited with what we saw when driving onto the property. The cottage was cute, cozy, and clean. Once you drive through twisting, tree lined roads and forest, you arrive at an open area among the hills that is in a very quiet spot in the mountains. We were able to enjoy the outdoor spaces during the day and come inside to a comfortable cottage while still enjoying the nature...

“Fantastic overnight stay. Room was clean and fresh. Early evening (SAT NIGHT) a little loud music from the restaurant/pub across street but that ended early. I love the porch rocking chairs and view of mountain! I might suggest to owners that they don’t allow guests to smoke directly outside of their room, but perhaps a designated area down at far end. Often when I opened my door to the porch, I could smell cigarette smoke. Otherwise, a great place to stay! ”

“Property looks great from the street. The location is just a short walk to all the shops in downtown. The floors on the front porch, lobby and hallways were dirty. They needed to be swept and the tile should have been mopped. The front entrance door and trim work had peeling paint. Our room was warm at first but the man at front desk came and opened the air vents which helped a lot. Our room was small and no TV, which we were aware of.”

“Okay for a one night stay. Facility needs a little updating. Beautiful location on the Rocky Broad River. We saw a huge black bear across the river from our balcony. Overall good experience here. ”

“This was our first trip to 1927 Lake Lure Hotel but not the last I hope. Staff was excellent and so helpful. The room was very clean. The whole property is so pretty and the antiques are a very nice touch in the lobby as well as on every landing. The only thing I would add is to have restaurant open we would have rather to have eaten there. Hope to come back with my best friends for a girl trip soon. ”

“We have always stayed there. Since maybe 2009, and my parents before that... Have stayed twice this year already. Pets rooms are not carpeted and get super clean and are set away from the non pet. Great family staff. ”
