"Ruthin Castle has so much character and charm. We love the rustic feel, the fascinating history, and the unique atmosphere that makes it feel unlike anywhere else we've stayed. This visit we stayed in the Prince of Wales Suite, and it was fantastic. It felt incredibly grand and prestigious, making our stay even more special.
The staff deserve a special mention too. Every member of the team we encountered was friendly, welcoming, attentive and genuinely helpful, which really adds to the whole experience.
If I could suggest just one improvement, it would be for the maintenance team to focus on some of the smaller cosmetic details. The hotel certainly doesn't need a full renovation, as its age and character are part of its appeal, but touching up areas with peeling or chipped paint would make a noticeable difference. They're quick wins that would help keep the castle looking at its very best while preserving its historic charm.
