The William Vale

The William Vale

10/10 Excellent
"The hotel itself and our room in particular were phenomenal. We happened to be there during a conference which seemed to take over the lobby and public spaces and a central restaurant, so that was a bit inconvenient and unpleasant. That said, the staff could not have been livelier, I believe we were upgraded to a corner room with a massive terrace and the location for walking., dining, recreating, could not be beat. Can’t wait to come back!!"

"Excellent option. The room was clean, as were the rest of the facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast, especially the variety of hot food options. Ideal for both business and leisure travel."

Highbridge Hotel

Highbridge Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We had a pleasant one night stay. Everything was very clean, the staff were kind and helpful, breakfast was above average. That said, it is not a 5 star hotel so set your expectations accordingly. This is a small hotel in the middle of a city block. One thing to note: everyone in your party has to come to breakfast together due to space to accommodate all guests. This was a tad inconvenient for our group of 4 but understandable; I just wish this was mentioned upon check in. Would stay again for a convenient location in Bronx area."

8/10 Good
"I stayed here on a solo trip as a woman, and it was a decent experience. The staff was friendly and responsive, especially Ashraf. He asked if I had eaten and even offered to give me food if I hadn’t! If you want somewhere clean to rest your head, then this will serve your purpose. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice and there is a working fridge and Roku TV. It is sparse, though, so it’s just a place to sleep, not hang out. You can hear noise and movement in the halls late at night, which is not ideal if you’re a light sleeper. Luckily, I WAS able to get a decent night’s sleep. Additionally, there is a construction site directly across from the hotel which started jackhammering at 7am on Saturday morning and continued until I left around 1pm. Just be aware and bring ear plugs if that’s a bother to you. The area is next to low income housing and people hang out late at night, but there are also families and people just going about their lives. As long as you’re vigilant, you should be fine. I didn’t have a problem, and I quickly adjusted to walking to and from the subway, even around 10pm. I would just say that the staff shouldn’t announce the room number out loud, just as a precaution and especially for women. However, everyone I encountered was friendly and minded their own business. Overall, I would recommend this as an affordable place to stay if you want to be close to the city."
