"A worthwhile lodge for your Big Sur visit. The bathroom looked freshly renovated with nice tile and marble, and was very clean, the bedroom felt older but clean and the bed comfortable. The views were lovely. We appreciated the table and chairs in the room for eating the food we brought with us. The breakfast offered was hard boiled eggs, mandarin oranges, juice, and a sweet loaf (that looked good but we didn’t eat). Parking was easy although the short driveway off Route 1 was rather steep and unpaved. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but they weren’t there at check-in; they come by in the morning to bring breakfast and prepare the rooms. It’s not a destination resort, but if your destination is Big Sur, Lucia Lodge is a decent place to stay and we would return. (A cabin we had booked in Big Sur last year was so dirty we left immediately, returning home rather than staying in the area. In comparison, Lucia Lodge though less expensive was much nicer with better views.)"

"Booked two rooms and although rooms on same floor there was no effort to have them located near each other. Traveling with family, booked reservations together and hotel seemed clueless and not helpful. Most ironic they put part of our party into a connecting room with another family with young children and was waken every hour during the night to a screaming baby. I left the hotel exhausted and glad I did not stay additional nights. Only positive was beds comfortable. "

"The grounds were lovely - beautifully maintained and lush. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Our room however had a light that was shining directly in from the outside and no blinds over one of the large glass windows. "

"The room was very clean and the staff is great, very responsive to all my questions. The location is also good and it’s lovely to look out your window and see lots of greenery. Only negative is the shabbiness of the bathroom and a few pieces of furniture. The bathrooms are greatly in need of an upgrade. "

"Disappointing, Lodge not ready, no Internet or TV available. Staff tended to be young and inexperienced. Redeaming feature was the Big Sur state park where Lodge is situated was amazingly beautiful. "
