The staff work really hard to make sure guest are comfortable and happy with their stay. This is not a 4 star resort and the rooms are outdated and need updating, but the room was clean, had air conditioning, hot water, clean linens, and the bed was comfortable. The food was not good, but it was edible and okay. This isn’t the staff’s fault whoever owns the place need to offer better menus, and better food options. The staff can only offer what they’re given. They did have several vegetarian options which I was pleased about. The Italian restaurant is where we had the best meal. The drinks are watered down, so be prepared to buy your own booze at the airport if that’s your thing. We were greeted with a cocktail and checked in by the concierge, who also booked all of our dinner reservations. What I did not appreciate was was waiting forever to check in. Now I know check in is at 3:00 PM but I’ve never had to wait more than an hour before check in at ANY resort or hotel and I travel a lot. If you know guess are arriving early, then there should be a room ready at least an hour before the check in time. But they tried to make up for it and were very accommodating the whole stay. For the money it was worth it and the grounds were really beautiful! This place has the potential to be a really great place. I heard there’s a new owner and hopefully he or she will invest and update the rooms and change the menus. Overall I had a good time and we enjoyed our stay.
