โOur room was Yew and Eye, one of the newly built cabins in the garden of this historic inn with a twist. The design is like nothing weโve ever seen before with surprises every way you look. โWe needed an overnight stop near Lewes, this being a mile or so north. Though on a main road (A275) it is a quiet, unpretentious and old country pub between a couple of other houses (one a former smithy) with convenient parking and an outside sitting/eating area behind, as well as 'bistro' style eating in the large downstairs bar, with a good selection of beers etc. The room and bathroom were simple and spotless,with fine quality towels and bed linen. โVery clean and cozy place but if you donโt have a car or a friend who could give you a ride itโs better to use a hotel in the central village. If you drive this is the hotel. Its swimming pool is very nice as well as its garden. โ
