“Really nice b&b in an historic and interesting house. Host was really friendly and breakfasts were really good. Large bedroom, plenty of space for clothes. Right opposite the Abbey and near local amenities. Would certainly return.”

“Very quirky old hotel with a lot of history to the hotel as well. Staff were very helpful and courteous and were a joy to deal with. Public areas could do with some attention as there were evidence of dust and cobwebs visible during our 5 day stay. No one paying attention to it except for someone writing dust with their finger to highlight the fact. Obviously it was being observed by others! Some tlc to the decor needed although the bedroom we stayed in was quite pleasant. We did enjoy our stay...

“Stayed in the 'Dunlin room' Very poor lighting in the corridor. Wallpaper patched up poorly in the corridor by the bedrooms. Noisy extractor fan in our bathroom. Breakfast a little underwhelming, (overdone bacon and chewy sausage. Staff very attentive and polite. No signal on the tv celestial channels on two days. Limited bathroom amenities. Cobwebs on the windows in the breakfast area. ”

“Not recommended, honestly we almost slept in the car. The main issues started on attempting to check in. We arrived late (around 1am) but there was no-one at the hotel that we could see. We then called the 24/7 line around 10 times, most of these times we were hung up on/disconnected prior to getting information. When the night porter did arrive back (after around 1 hour of waiting) check in was relatively quick and then we walked over to the house (note check in is not necessarily at the place...

“Eckington Manor is a lovely hotel with very nice rooms, set in beautiful grounds, a short distance from Cheltenham. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. As the hotel is a little remote, we decided to eat in the hotel. The food was excellent as was the breakfast. Would definitely recommend and will no doubt return if we are in the Cotswolds.”

“Situated on the ground floor during a heatwave wasn’t great. We were left wondering if all the rooms in the hotel were full and perhaps they could have located us in a room with a window that opened. The young man who served us for the evening meal was very attentive and very polite which was nice to see. Not so the staff at breakfast.”

“Room was broken into . Door was not strong - split in half. How dod someone get through security door? I expressed my concerns but no-one bothered to respond. I had asked what they had done about it. Did they even report to police. Then later I locked myself out of room. There is no reception so was asked to go to another hotel to pick up a key. I spent £19 on Uber (return) and didn’t even have shoes, and it was raining. Sheet didn’t fit mattress properly so kept coming off. Trains disturbed...
