"The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return."

"Our room looked out on the ocean and we loved sitting on the balcony listening to the waves. We also enjoyed the hot tub each night. The breakfast had something for everyone from eggs, bacon or sausage, waffles, pastries and bagels, fruit, yogurts, etc."

"The hotel and staff was very good, the room was nice and new. Location was also excellent and the Mexican Restaurant next door was a great option. Our only complaint was we did not know we had to request to have our room cleaned, we were out the entire day and returned to a uncleaned room with no new towels. If we had known we would have at least hung up our towels to use the following day. The night staff provided us with new towels and said its been this way since covid. I think it should...

"The service was exceptional! I would have given it 5 stars but one elevator didnt work at all and the other one had issues also. The room was clean. We had an oceanfront room and the view was amazing! The food in the restaurant, especially the steak, was the best we had on our 4 day stay in Kill Devil Hills! Recommend! "

"This is our 4th or 5th stay here. The staff are always very helpful and courteous. The common areas and inside and out are starting to look a bit worn. They just finished a renovation to the restaurant and reception area. It made the restaurant feel more like a restaurant, less open to the hustle and bustle of the reception area and the passage through to the pools. Someone in management decided to remove the 'free' coffee from the reception area. To get coffee now, one must go to the...

"The hotel was in the middle of everything. Could go to Corolla and Duck and also Cape Hatteras. Tons of great food choices. The beds were comfy, the sheets clean. The room was clean too. The only complaint I have is the shower didn’t drain. "
