“The owner is very kind and the check in process is smart; you follow him up the hill to your cottage so no confusion as to where to park and stuff. The location and view is STUNNING, 10/10. I found the cottage itself and the amenities a bit basic and outdated. If you take only the cottage in consideration (without the view), I wouldn't pay what I paid to stay there. “The location was great as we were travelling to Algonquin park. The cabin was fine, looks like it was recently updated. Seemed fairly clean, except the fan in the bathroom was laden with dust. The couch was very uncomfortable and the beds were adequate. We were looking forward to using the hot tub but it was not in working order. They had lots of watercraft that was included and a barbecue. The sauna I think was working but not on when I went to use it. The owners were friendly and helpful.”

“Very charming cottage with great lake view. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen view was great and the cottage was tastefully decorated. It was nice that there was heating and air conditioning which was surprisingly quiet. The 2 bedroom unit we were in needs to be painted and well cleaned and the grounds need some work. “If you’re looking for a place to stay that’s close to concert venues, amusements parks, and restaurants outside the city then Avonlea Cottages is the go. If you’re ever short and in need of supplies, there’s a grocery store just across the street. As for the cottage itself, it’s pretty good for the price you pay, you basically get everything you need for a short or long stay. Only thing I would like to mention is that there’s no strong kitchen ventilation so if you plan on cooking inside, beware...
