"Stayed in a standard room without kitchen. The room was clean but dated. Slow shower drain not unusual in an older building. Unfortunately the AC unit could not keep up with the evening spring heat. I told them about the problem, the following morning and they fixed it that morning. Overall not a bad experience and good value, 2 blocks from White House."

"Just a note to Expedia bookers, you will probably end up on a low floor without the same amenities as other guests. We were put above the underground garage so the room shook when the door went up and down. The front window was right near street level by the front door. We noticed other rooms had a Nespresso set up as we were leaving, but we didn’t. Room service was a bit hectic with trying to order (the kitchen was hard to reach) but the delivery person was super nice. I tried to use the texting feature to request items from the desk (e.g., more hangars) and never heard back, while I do at other Kimpton hotels. Hotel keys didn’t work the first couple times I tried to use them, so I kept having to return to the desk. The hotel also makes it look like there is a rooftop that guests can access, and that is currently untrue. It seems like there was once a bar that is now closed and it is used entirely as an event space. Some pluses were free drink tickets to the downstairs bar and discounted coupons if you dine in the hotel restaurant for 15% off. There is also free water in the lobby. There is a steamer and make up mirror in the room, which is also super convenient. All in all, I think I’ll book through IHG with Kimpton in the future. The hotel itself was comfortable but was missing some things that would have made it stand out."

"We almost always stay at the Morrison Clark Inn whenever we are in DC in part because we have found it a very comfortable and luxurious place to stay, but also because of its history, its great people on staff, its delicious restaurant menu close to other great restaurants, and its location in downtown DC close to museums, the Convention Center, etc. We couldn’t ask for more."

"I was there for a week and it was awful. Puddle of beer on nightstand when I checked in. LOUD starting at 7AM thanks to yapping maids, paper-thin walls, and slamming doors. A worker knocked on my door like the cops at 7AM one day thinking the room was empty, then called me rude when I slammed the door in his face. And the coup de grâce: a pipe broke and flooded my room, soaked my clothes. MOTHERF*** THIS PLACE."
