โWe had a fantastic stay at Shibu Hotel. The staff were so kind and welcoming. They made us feel so special throughout our stay. The Kaiseki dinner was such an experience. The room was very nice, clean and had nice decor. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Shibu Onsen. โ

โIchiro, the innkeeper, was very kind and even drove us to the snow money reserve and back free of charge. Nice to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan. Highly recommended.โ
โImpeccably clean, nice hot onsen, super helpful front desk. Cozy comfy beds. We donโt try the food but we will next time because it smelled delicious. *expedia site is WRONG - itโs not a 3 minute walk to ski resort - Itโs a 30 min drive.โ
โLocation is good, opposite is the ski resort, which has good snow. Overall room was well maintained, public Onsen was nice too. However we came during early ski season, there is barely any restaurants opens. Hotel cafe food is a bit expensive, and not much choice (mainly western). If plan to stay may order half board instead, or tell hotel staff to reserve dinner before 10amโ
โWe enjoyed our stay at Hotel Shiga Sunvalley. Loved the style of the Japanese rooms, it was very clean and the staff were exceptional!
Usui and staff helped up with any questions we had, ski rentals, keeping luggage after check out, shuttle bus information. Would stay with them again 10/10โ

Good breakfast, Huge and clean room, and reasonable price.
Facilities(incl. hot spring) were somewhat old need to repair or change.

โIt was a great place to stay. The room was clean and spacious by Japanese standards. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows and the duvet. The location was only a couple of blocks from the train station with shopping and restaurants. Great place to stay! Enjoyed it and would definitely recommend and stay again.โ
โMany hot springs around. Need your own transport to get around. Went off season so maybe the dining options were limited.

โStaff was super friendly. They took us to the ski gear rental shop and back again to return the stuff. Their English was ok, enough to explain what buses to take, recommend pistes, etc. We even received a small gift when leaving. I recommend reserving the 3 meal course.โ
