“Fantastic location with 11 acres, river in grounds and Abbey ruins next door. Had dinner in restaurant which was excellent as was breakfast the next day. Used as a stop off for one night from Aberdeenshire to the midlands and same price as well known hotel chains. An issue with bed on arrival but sorted out by receptionist promptly.”

“Was a little further from Selkirk than expected/noticed at booking but was worth the extra miles. Bus didn’t stop so had to book a taxi from Selkirk. The hotel was helpful and offered to come pick us up if needed! Food at dinner and breakfast was excellent.”

“Lovely stay. Our room had previously been the old public bar, so was huge! Decor was a little tired and could do with a refresh (especially the bathroom - such a wasted opportunity not to put a bigger bath in there)! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious - such a treat to have kippers, being on a ban at home for them! Would recommend and definitely stay again!”

“Good location to use as a base for one or two nights stay. Staff at breakfast and room cleaning were friendly and helpful. Breakfast food was the usual mix of traditional cooked fare with cereal, yoghurt, juices etc. The remote Check in was a little strange but caused no problems. The twin bedroom was small but adequate as was the bathroom. The shower worked well. The house has a large downstairs lounge with TV and views of the seafront which allows guests the option of relaxing outside their...

“One night stay in this historic house now being used as a hotel located a short walking distance from Hawick centre set in an attractive garden with a wonderful park nearby. Lovely interior with large attractive lounge, entrance hallway and staircase. Large bedroom and en suite bathroom. The Large king-size bed was firm and therefore not that comfortable. Breakfast was a standard traditional option with cereal and juices. Not much interaction with staff except at check in and ordering breakfast....

“The room was clean and the location convenient but it was difficult to find initially. There was no soap in the room or enough toilet roll so it would have been good to have been warned that I would need these. The shower head was broken. There was a kitchenette but an incomplete set of cutlery and limited crockery. At the cost of the room though I would have expected these things to be provided.”

“This was a lovely place to stay which we chose partly because it has some EV charging facilities. The restaurant and bar have a good selection with well kept beer and the staff are helpful and friendly. We especially recommend the panna cotta, however, all the food was good. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size and well appointed with tea, coffee and water. We would visit again ”

“There was a large party downstairs (floor below) on the Saturday night we stayed there. Music from DJ was very loud and pounding/felt in our room until after midnight preventing sleep. The Restaurant was unavailable due to the party. I wouldn’t recommend booking a room on this property when the downstairs facilities are booked in this way.”

“I went down for breakfast at 7.30....a bit later than I usually would, but everything was closed. I tried calling the number on the front desk but didn't get an answer. The room is decent but the bed was very hard.”
