“Winchelsea is a fascinating historic place. The ancient New Inn is a central part of it. For a night's stay it's fine: our room was comfortable enough and had a good view. Breakfast and supper offered average pub fare. What the New Inn really needs is fresh investment: the public areas are tired and e.g. our TV/ remote was worn out.”

“We had a great stay here with a lovely view over to camber castle. This hotel is in a perfect location in the town just around the corner from the church, mermaid street and Lamb House. Outside is a lovely viewing point. It was very peaceful and quiet at night. There is a little bar downstairs which was handy for a post hike drink (lovely bar room and quiet). “Great hotel, great for dogs, food was amazing, I love a good steak, I send back lots of steaks as they are not cooked how I like them but this was spot on... bed was so good, and the breakfast was a great fry up.. could not fault it”

“Stayed two nights 26/27 March. The de luxe double was an excellent room very comfortable bed had a really good night sleep. Bath in the bathroom a positive. Breakfast on first day a full english really well cooked next day on the Saturday had eggs royale really good.”

“Stayed for three nights over Xmas. The walk from the pub to the accommodation was across a muddy unpaved carpark. Access to the room was via a combination door lock and privacy in the room afforded by blinds at the door ,room windows. Unfortunately there was no internal lock on the door and gaps in the blinds afforded a view into the room from outside. The room was cold on arrival and took hours to warm up. “Great hotel right on the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful, and food at the restaurant was great (we had breakfast, lunch and dinner over 2 days). Small spa area which was a nice treat after a days cycling! Our room was on the small side but it was perfectly fine for a short stay (and the bathroom was big!) Would recommend! ”
