“A good hotel in a really beautiful setting. Good quality food in restaurant at a sensible price. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Additional bonus of a geothermally heated olympic size outdoor pool. Easy on-site free parking.”

“My stay at Buxton Crescent Hotel was pleasant and relaxing. The staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout my visit. Breakfast was delicious, well-organized, and offered a wonderful dining experience. The hospitality and attention to detail made my stay even more enjoyable. I truly appreciated the excellent service and would highly recommend this beautiful hotel. I look forward to visiting again!”

“Great location for Matlock Bath illumination. Hotel has an Indian restaurant which was popular but we had already booked elsewhere. The hotel is generally clean and tidy but some aspects of cleaning could be improved. The shower doors and bathroom floor would have benefited from a better clean. Good parking facilities on site and friendly staff. Hotel is a bit tired but places to stay in Matlock bath with parking are limited. All in all, good value for money.”

“Room was filthy, dust, dirt and cobwebs. Bathroom smelt like poo. Sink leaked. Entire room smelt of damp. Bed atrocious. The pillows were flat as pancakes and very old. Fridge didn't work. Staff friendly.”

“Architectual gem, rendered very usable and relaxing”

“The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very clean and very comfortable, there was even a lounge area which we didn't expect. The hotel itself is in a prime location so everything is within walking distance. The bar at the hotel is well stocked and we did dine at the hotel and the food was amazing. The only downside I can think of is the parking situation. The hotel does have parking but with very limited spaces, but there is plenty of other parking options which the hotel does...

“Lovely home cooked breakfast and comfortable room. Best bathroom stayed in so far as was really spacious with separate shower cube and bath - a real treat. Staff very friendly and thoughtful.”

“Beautiful place,good breakfast,ample parking,easy check-in,clean rooms,housekeeping everyday.No availability of small fridge though.Overall worth the money.”

“Wonderful B&B near the centre of Matlock. We loved our room and the person running it was lovely and very helpful. Thoroughly recommend.”

“Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und das Frühstück ist einfach umwerfend.”

“Perfect B&B. Sue and John were very welcoming and couldn't have done more for us. Room was very spacious and comfortable. It was well equipped with lots of attention to detaill. Everything was spotlessly clean in the room and the communal areas. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice . Only downside was the road which was a bit challenging but we got used to it!”

“Do not be taken in by old reviews, something has changed and now this hotel no longer provides breakfast (or any meals) neither does it provide housekeeping service. We found the whole property grubby and neglected. Our shower leaked everywhere and despite the outside temperature being 5 degrees C the central heating wasn’t working and hot water was intermittent. The public areas downstairs, dining room, bar, reception and lounge are not in use and mostly empty. Check in is self service. It...

“Can`t fault anything about our stay at The View at The White Horse. We always feel very welcome having stayed on a number of occasions. Really good menu, food delicious. Would highly recommend.”
