“Our stay was excellent and would reccomend this to anyone in this area”

“A very pleasant stay Room was lovely”

“Quirky property, lovely log fire, helpful staff. Good food. Dogs very well catered for. Would have preferred a groundfloor room, which was originally allocated, but ended up in a first floor room. Lot of noise from heavy traffic at the rear of the property which can be heard in the room”

“The parking was good, always available . The room was pleasant. The food was good. The problems were - the position on a hectic main road, I didn’t see it mentioned on there review. The heat, though the weather was not hot you could barely open the windows and then had to shut them because of the noise of the traffic and then there was black mold on the bottom of the shower. The staff were pleasant though breakfast was not explained very well!”

“Great location. Great staff. Breakfast selection good, but finishes too early for staying on holiday, so missed some breakfasts. Some issues with bathroom: towel rail/radiator not working, extraction fan not working & strong smell of drains.”

“A lovely hotel at the heart of Wye valley. Barry and Suzy were lovely host with their greetings and service. Delicious breakfast. Clean room. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to explore Chepstow and the historic Tintern Abbey.”

“Room was clean and modern and good size for one person……wonderful location close to Cardiff castle and city centre….. beautiful big park close by…..excellent location with the National Express depot 5 minutes away for transfers to London airports or Swansea…. Pub itself and surround on the premises were run down and dated….. needed some money spent to tidy it up….”

“Wonderful accommodations in a most beautiful part of our world. The building is very old and this is not perfect. For us it was perfect. An excellent breakfast each morning and dinner and pints in the evening. Plenty to see nearby. We look forward to visiting again.”

“Room was clean.. Staff were nice & helpful.. breakfast eas nice... it is looking a very tired looking hotel... probably in need of a refresh All in all... a good stay”

“We arrived later than planned because of multiple road floodings in and around Cardiff, but staff was really helpful, breakfast was tasty and the whole place was very cosy. We would have loved staying more Nights.”

“We had a fantastic stay here in one of the new deluxe rooms. The room was incredibly comfortable, very well furnished and spotlessly clean with a large bathroom. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a nice selection of hot dishes (special praise for the eggs benedict) alongside fruit juices, pastries, yogurt etc. We also had an evening meal in the pub which was again very nice. The pub is conveniently located a few minutes from the Bath park and ride. We'd...

“thank you”

“Great for a night or two. Good food, comfy beds and a welcoming staff.”

“Room not aging well. Stained carpet. Bed linen clean. Towels clean. Shower ok.”

“A very comfortable one night stay, lovely helpful staff, great good value food. The bed was comfortable and facilities were good. We were at the front so had a lot of road noise which we are not used too. I would recommend the hotel and pub”

“it was alright”

“Perfect weekend away, rooms and pub are lovely, really lovely touches in each room. Pub was nice and had live music on Friday evening which was a real plus. Was very clean and staff were friendly!”

“A little bit difficult to get there but worth the trip. Very nice and comfortable room. Very well stocked with breakfast foods. Very close and easy access to Wales and Eye Valley.”

“We had a great one night stay at Berwick Lodge on a a Monday to celebrate a birthday. The sun shone and the Housemartins flew happily around whilst we sat on the terrace having a cocktail. The à la carte menu was fantastic - well worth the cost and breakfast was very tasty. Will definitely stay again in one of the other fantastic looking rooms.”
