The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay
10/10 Excellent
"Overall my stay at the marina inn was amazing. Not only was it affordable for my four night stay, but the staff was very helpful and the property was well maintained. The only improvements that I would say that would make this stay a 5/5 in terms of everything is that the outlets were very loose and could barely hold my charger, a better job cleaning the TV remote since there was some stickiness to it, and better maintenance to the bathroom shelves since there was some rust on there in I believe was room 305 when I stayed there. Free breakfast was delicious and didn't have time going to the pool since we were in San Francisco driving around all day so coming back to a quiet spot by the bay was really nice."

Handlery Union Square Hotel
8/10 Good
"You can't beat the location of this hotel, it was very central and easy to take public transport around it. The pool is a nice added bonus, it was warmed though unfortunately SF was too cold for us to truly enjoy the pool, though there was plenty of other people who seemed to be enjoying it. The staff was very professional and helpful. The lobby was very nice as well. Now the hotel itself is definitely run down. Our room was over in the "premium" section which was not at all premium. Perhaps in the main building the rooms are nicer but our area it was definitely run down and in great need of some basic upgrading. This extended into our rooms as well. The beds were not that comfortable, the bathroom had some traces of leftover hair and the water in the shower would stop for 1 second, not enough to make it uncomfortable but definitely strange. Hair is tricky and I'm sure they cleaned so it didn't bother me but its just an extra level of detail they are not checking. I never mentioned this to the staff as in the end I was able to live with it but I'm certain they would have made it right if I had asked. Though I'd definitely look around for options first I wouldn't exclude this hotel from future stays. It is definitely good enough and definitely the location and pool are really great to have so I would stay again if the price was right."
Seaside Inn & Suites

Chancellor Hotel on Union Square
10/10 Excellent
"This is a hidden gem! We were somewhat leery booking this property because the price was $150 for the night. What we experienced was a great boutique style hotel. The room was smaller but had a large walk in closet, which you don’t see in hotels. This allowed us to put luggage in there and made the room feel bigger. Highly recommend staying here!"
