Field by Patching Pond Seen from the stile at the corner of the field. Strictly, in order to proceed down the field by public footpath, one must cross the hedge on the left at a stile, and then shortly afterwards return through the hedge by a second stile. Naturally a path parallel to the hedge on the right is the customary route. The tail of Patching Pond is in the wooded area straight ahead.
