“Water bottle left in room when we arrived dead flys on window sill abit dusty in places… was asked what time we wanted breakfast so said 8 o’clock nobody turned up till 8:25 then told cooked breakfast wasn’t an option for weekdays which wasn’t specified…. But lovely views from our room”

“Booked our stay at the Royal Victoria Hotel for the purpose of hiking up Snowden. This was a great choice as the hotels location was ideal, being a few hundred yards from the start of the Llanberis path. The hotel itself was very clean, staff super friendly, and the room met our needs. Car parking wasn't a problem as the car park has ample space, and as previously mentioned, is a stone throw from the start of the path we would take to the summit. “Good rooms. Great restaurant onsite where I ate every evening. On my 1st day, I arrived past 9pm when kitchen was already closing but they still made me food which was nice. Location is not in the center of the town but this should obvious to anyone by looking at the map. The hotel is close to some nice hiking trails. Great place to rest after exploring Wales.”

“Great and helpful staff, really good beers and food, air con in the bar area which was fantastic after a hot day hiking. Superb location for Moel Siabod. A few teething problems as we attended after a revamp, staff were very keen to help attend to these. Only improvement is the quality of the packed lunches, which were a little uninspiring for £12.50!”

“Our “room” was a small apartment set over two floors. Very comfortable, clean and with everything we needed for a few nights. WiFi was good. Nice art on the walls. Plenty of parking. And convenient location for touring around snowdonia and north wales. Staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfasts included. Thankyou for everything”

“Really great place to stay, lovely olde worlde restaurant, great menu, plenty of space between tables and a relaxed but attentive atmosphere when we dined in the evening.”

“Room had no carpeting only cushion floor in black & white pattern which was well worn. Furnishing was uninspiring and well used. Not the most comfortable of beds. Unfortunately in the yard outside of our room was some type of generator which was noisy and was switching on and off overnight. Parking was very limited. Overall very basic. Gentleman who greeted us was very pleasant and welcoming and nice courtesy tray in room.”

“This hotel was probably state of the art 35/40 yrs ago. It’s very well photographed but in honesty… it’s awful. Rooms are worn out, carpets in places are threadbare. Bathroom had various it’s broken or loose. In the evenings was a constant smell of over cooked vegetables that was very unpleasant. Having spoken to locals it’s recently been taken over but it’s in need of HUGE investment I (and neither will my colleagues) definitely won’t be staying there again.”
