“What a lovely oasis after days on the trail. Staff super helpful and kindly made a breakfast bag for us when we were leaving too early for the set breakfast time. Sweet quiet rural setting. The UBER from town was easy to book but only at the last minute.”

“The vibe was so calm and relaxing. The breakfasts had a huge variety of food, and were tasty. The beds were less firm than usual Portuguese standards, but quite firm by UK standards. The pool was a delightful respite from daily life and as it was quiet, we often had the whole space to ourselves. The staff were lovely. The local town was a bit quiet, and developing in tourism. But the hotel offered free bikes to go and explore. A lovely place to stay for deep relaxation over a long weekend, and...

“Located outside the Castle Walls, but well situation for a quiet evening in Obidos. The rooms and whole home were impeccably clean, the breakfast was wonderful and the whole stay was unforgettable. The history of this home and charachter are once in a lifetime.”

“It’s the nice place to stay and the room is clean”

“We enjoyed this place so much. The breakfast was excellent, especially the breads. I want come back with my grandchildren in summer time. ”

“Beautiful house and surroundings. Nice pool. Rooms were spacious, clean and well decorated but we missed curtains as we had windows on the street side. Insulation was a bigger problem, you could litterally hear everything (even the toilet) from the room next door. Breakfast was okay but it was very limited and they didn't come to refill it. Orange juice was made from powder :/”

“Such a beautiful place to stay, our room was clean and spacious with a private garden. The pool area was so relaxing, small and inmate with trees for shade and a lovely salt water pool. The grounds were amazing, so much nature to explore, walking in the orchards was so tranquil; I am a birdwatcher and it was also a great spot to see the local birds right on the property. It was only a short taxi journey into Faro, usually less than 10 euros, so it was the best of both worlds being able to have...

“Our stay at Casa de Casal de Loivos exceeded our expectations. The Douro Valley views are breathtaking, especially from the terrace right outside our door while enjoying a glass of Portuguese wine. We enjoyed delicious, authentic Portuguese dinners both evenings, served family-style around a communal table with eight other guests. Sharing wonderful food, wine, and conversation with travellers from around the world made for a truly memorable dining experience. Bernardo and Paulo’s excellent wine...
