"Wonderful historic Inn in the heart of Rye. Breakfast was top notch and the Inn was splendid. Would stay again. We also enjoyed the bar, the lounges and all the history."
"We wanted quiet, peaceful, beautiful, unique and considerate and that’s what we got. To be woken up by pheasants and lambs, dinner at The Plough, logs being burnt inside and out and amazing views and walks… it was all there."

Great restaurants, shops, scenery and walks. Winchelsea church worth a visit. The Waterworks Micro Pub/Brewery (Old Public Conveniences) well worth a visit. They have great beer and actively encourage you to talk to pepole on the same table :-)

It's a beautiful place to visit for an overnight stay. The nature reserve which is a mile or so along harbour road is a particular highlight for a ramble or a spot of twitching.

Definitely got to the fig, and Waterworks micropub. If you don't breakfast at the hotel then Whitehouse Rye is amazing. Be careful of the Grapevine ... I paid £25 to book a table and everyone else just walked in and were sat fine. Rip off.

"Very happy with our stay at The Ship. Our room Skye Chardonnay was very comfortable. Our little dog was made very welcome with a gift box of treats a toy and poo bags of course! The Housekeeping staff were very good."
