“Loved the hotel. Lovely room and fantastic staff. Great breakfast. Only negative is that parking can be pretty tricky (or at least it was on the Saturday night that I was there). ”

“We stayed in chalet #2 Bramble. There was a bit of a wait at reception at check in. We were told we were in lodge #2. We were given three keys which was helpful. When we got to the lodge the number was not as clear as the name so it would have been helpful to have been told the name at checkin. When we opened the door we were presented with another 8, Yes 8 doors! The rooms themselves were basic but fine. 2 bathrooms one was a stand alone shower room the other had a shower over bath and was a...

“Was the only ones staying, lovely hotel quiet and clean. Bed was very hard and shower cubicle very small but breakfast was 100% worth the money. ”

“All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. This is the third time we have stayed at the , " Duke of York". The rooms are always clean and well supplied and wonderfully quirky. The food is exquisite, good suppliers and a talented chef make any meal you order an absolute delight. The choice of beers and ciders definately hit the spot and are excellently kept. We will, without question, be looking to return for more stays regardless of the season because any time of year is great here.”

“Absolutely fabulous few days away. This is a real gem of a hotel. Quiet and secluded but a real joy to experience. The staff are so helpful and genuine (Rosie, Sharon and Oliver deserve medals) There was plenty of choice for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was tasty and well presented. The evening dinner menu and quality of food was 10/10. I think it could be even better with a slightly extended menu. We will be back x”

“Unfortunately the hotel had some problems in the kitchen which impacted very badly on the menu for dinner, the breakfast, service (so slow) and noise. It would have been better to fix the problems before reopening or to have had the courtesy to let us know in advance what the situation was. I would have stayed somewhere else. Extremely disappointing as I’ve had lovely stays here in the past. ”
