"Hotel was going through refurbishment, so not there fault that all amenities available. But looks like hotel will be amazing when complete. Staff were excellent, food and drink superb, location perfect."

"Not so great bits - Considering the high price of the room, the room we were allocated was very small in comparison to the other rooms The English breakfast was sadly tasteless and we felt we were an inconvenience to the breakfast staff when waiting to be seated and ordering toast etc Parking is not on site (tight to enter and keypad is very low) charged at £25 per stay and only valid for 1 hour after checkout Good bits - great central location, room and bathroom was well equipped, maintained and very clean, the lounge area has lovely views across the lake"

"If you have the chance, take the cabin! It’s so nice to have your own backyard, with a spa and furniture outside, you really feel like home. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel and it was delicious. The staff is really nice and smiling! Would totally recommand! It’s close to any hikes + we saw a few bikers too!"

"The room was clean only slight negative was the extractor fan in the bathroom was slightly noisy. Parking was fine and we were able to park late morning and then check in late afternoon and not try find parking in Bowness which was helpful. As anyone that had checked out that morning had gone. The Breakfast was lovely and good selection."

"We love this hotel and its' location. Our main criticism didn't affect our stay, it's just that it is rather tired in places. Everywhere downstairs and the landing was perfect. Our bedroom furniture was very tired and the carpets had some permanent marks. The outside of the property is also very tired, a lot of paint is flaking and the gardens aren't as well maintained as they could be, lots of weeding needing to be done. It is a lovely quirky hotel and it's a shame these things let it down a little."
