“Our room (4) was at the front with the use of a verandah which was a bonus. The room was very clean and the bed and bedding were excellent. The only minor issues were the bathroom vanity unit was very tatty with warped wood and slightly peeling paint and the tiles behind the toilet were lifting with grubby grouting. “Really lovely hotel. A lovely mix of modern and art deco. The room was spacious and very comfortable. It was a little noisy from the restaurant downstairs, but next time we'll just ask for a room in a different spot. The staff were lovely, especially those in the bar/restaurant. ”

“We were given an upgraded room it was very comfortable and spacious. but the light was dim. A very large bathroom with both bath & shower but only 1 hand towel. Breakfast was very nice apart from the bacon which was awful. ”

“One of the best places to stay with a dog. Staff are very dog friendly and the property is quite large to walk your dog around so it's very convenient. The rooms also have a good sized bath so it was excellent! ”

The Landlord was very helpful in providing the best route to re join the South Downs Way the following morning. Unfortunately the nearby cafes were not open for breakfast on Monday - The Green Welly doesn't open and The Nutmeg doesn't open on Bank holidays! We resorted to buying two baguettes from The White Lion and having them for breakfast and lunch!”
