“We have enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay, the location was spot on only 2 minutes to Lake Windermere and the ferry landing point. Colin is the perfect host, very attentive, knowledgeable of the area and looked after us well. Breakfast was a lovely; full English in a cosy setting. The room was fine with all amenities. It was our birthdays whilst there and Colin decorated the room, these touches are most appreciated. Definitely recommend 10/10”

“The hotel is lovely overall, but it feels a little tired in places, with some short-term fixes rather than longer-term solutions. Our room was very warm, and a sign advised calling reception as the air conditioning was decommissioned. When I did, the response felt quite dismissive, focusing on the fact that air-con wasn’t included in the booking. I wasn’t expecting it as a given, just following the instructions for help — especially as we were travelling with a 3-month-old and the room was...

“On the whole our stay was lovely. Beautiful location Hotel room slightly dated didn't look like the photos on the website. Staff were okay. Asked for a margarita at the bar said they couldn't make one. So asked for a fresh raspberry cocktail which was on the menu. Described as having fresh raspberries. No raspberries to be seen. And the drinks were expensive. Breakfast was nice but slow. Wouldn't return.”

“We had a wonderful stay in this real southern Lake District gem of a cottage – thank you Jules (and Alistair)! It's even lovelier than the photos show! Almost any facilities and extras you could want or need were already provided, with such care and attention to detail across all the areas. If there had been anything missing or not quite right (which there wasn't), then a quick ask would be all that's needed. “A tale of two halves…. Beech Hill & Spa Windermere Terrace and views = outstanding. Walk down to sit by the lake = very nice indeed. Deco and furnishings = very nice. Parking = free - nice - can become overcrowded very quickly. Staff = nice, they try hard. Spa = indoors is nice if a little small. Outdoors not available due to refurb. They try to blame you Expedia for not telling me. Refurbishing/upgrade = not an expert, but it’s looking like will not be ready for the summer season...

“Because it’s an old property there isn’t enough plug sockets in the room & trying to do my hair without a mirror by a socket & somewhere to sit was pretty impossible So if your not bothered with this it’s a fine place to stay Missed fresh fruit at breakfast ”

“Our room, on the first floor, was excellent with lovely views. The food was of a high quality and the service was very good except on one of our three evenings when we were forgotten about and it took at least three complaints to get our meal started. On this occasion we were in the restaurant for about two hours and it took 45 minutes before we got our starter. This was a shame because otherwise everything was perfect.”

“Lovely staff, beautiful surroundies good place to access hikes or lovly small towns. Roads are narrow getting there but it is a gorgeous location. Excellent breakfast and pub food. We really enjoyed our stay.”

“We stayed here just as a stop over and it was a very small and low double bed in a huge room. It wasnt the cleanest so I was glad I had slippers with me. Shower ceiling was too low for a 6'2 person so my partner had to crouch. The main parts of the hotel looked nice on arrival, but we didnt make use of it. Nice and quiet despite the location.”
