"We had a wonderful stay at Mount Royal Hotel. Waking up to the castle view every morning was truly special, and the staff were consistently warm and welcoming. The room was quite small, with limited storage and no refrigerator. We paid an extra £20 per night for the castle view, and for us, it was worth it. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the strong musty smell in the shower room, which was unpleasant throughout our stay."

"Stayed for our silver wedding anniversary and glad we chose the Apex Waterloo. Check in was easy and friendly, Room was very nice, clean, spacious and well equipped. Wonderful reception lady came and brought us a bottle of Prosecco on ice with 2 glasses on the house which was a lovely gesture Pool and Spa was lovely and relaxing and for an early Sat evening we had it to ourselves. The lady managing the Spa was wonderfully polite and kind. The bar staff were friendly. Overall a great hotel, yes price was high, but mid July, excellent proximity to city centre, train station etc and special occasion the Apex Waterloo was an excellent choice and would definitely recommend"

"What a really unusual place to stay. We loved staying here. The staff were friendly and really helpful, esp as the trams were not working so we got a great explanation of which buses would take us to various locations. I love the art deco period and this boat certainly did not disappoint. We will definitely be back! Its s hidden gem in Leith."

"Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay at Pillars. Being from Canada, we missed having air conditioning, but Edinburgh wasn't as hot as back home and the fan in the room worked well to cool the room at night with a cross-breeze from the open windows. The deep tub was a luxury after a long day walking up and down hills. The kitchen was clean and had a nice selection of equipment to use. It was lovely chatting with other guests in the common kitchen area. The neighbourhood was nice to walk around with a convenient Boots and Tesco, and transit was easy to get to. Occasionally we wished it was easier to pop back to the hotel from Old Town, but we the money we saved by staying outside the centre of town meant we had more to spend at all the locally owned pubs and coffee shops. We will stay there again on our next visit!"

"Such a fun, unique stay in Edinburgh! I love that the rooms are all named after light houses. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. When we told them we had a very early flight out, they offered to make us a bag of pastries to take at check out. The room was amazing— most places in cities like this are so tight, but we had a huge bed & shower. The balcony out to the deck with access to a lounge area was so relaxing."
