“I love the Embassy Suites because the rooms are very accommodating with the bedroom livingroom style rooms. The made to order breakfasts are perfect way to start the morning. My main complaint about this Emabssy in particular is the parking garage is quite the walk down the street, which makes loading and unloading difficult. With no catwalk to get there in case of inclement weather. I probably will not stay there again because of this reason.”

“Hotel was quiet and provided what we needed for a night’s rest on our trip down to NC. Front desk host, Debra was very nice and accommodating. However, the 3rd floor rooms have a heavy chemical smell with smoke undertones…Perhaps an attempt to cover up the smell from people smoking in the rooms even though it’s not allowed. We tried two rooms and found the smell to be the same. We did not partake of the breakfast as it was mostly carbs. I did grab a banana for the road though!”

“Horrible just horrible place”

“The property itself is worth the trip. A breathtaking escape from the everyday. The beds were outrageously comfortable and the view from the window was to die for. We ended up in an ADA accessible room, so the shower head was pathetic and the water pressure wasn’t great. We tried the bar and grill and the food was fantastic, though the service was slow. The indoor and outdoor hot tub were both functional and fantastic. However, It threw me off that the indoor-outdoor pool was open to the outside...

“I will start with the positive. We got massages and the spa was nice. The massages were good. The steakhouse was wonderful and the manager there, the waitress and the staff throughout Oglebay were really good. Now for the not so good: We were there for our 40th anniversary, which they had in their system, but we were given a room in one of the lodge wings that only had a view of the wall belonging to the next building of rooms. “The best part was Elliot’s Grill and Bar on premises. Quiet property until you open the door to the grill - wow! Full of people, laughing and socializing, $7 large mixed drinks, such a friendly and lively place! Room was clean and sufficient, not luxurious but fine. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices. This is the place to stay if you are visiting the New River Gorge area of WV. ”

“Once upon a time I am sure this place was really nice. We stayed for a golf event, otherwise I would not stay here. We stayed in the executive suite area. The room was outdated and the pullout couch was very worn, torn, broken and uncomfortable. Our smoke alarm battery was old, so it was beeping. The buildings in general could use some upkeep. The room was very overpriced. ”

“I checked in and got my room on the third floor. The minute I walked off the elevator, the smell was overwhelming. A very strong musty smell. The room was ok with the smell, but still there. I never check beds when I stay in a hotel, but I checked this one. There were stains on the mattress protector. Lots of hair was also found on the mattress protector. The pillows were yellow with stains. The curtain was ripped and a huge water stain was on the curtain as well. I couldn't stand to stay there....
