“Very impersonal. Check in/out is virtual, they were fairly nice, it was hard to understand what they were saying. The shower had dirty footprints and a bottle of soap left in it. One of the washcloths was dirty with what looked like the same dirt from the footprints in the shower. “Room was clean, and spacious enough for the five of us. It worked out great until we went to sleep. The hallways are filled with the bright, white, LED lights. If you know anything about having trouble sleeping, then this hotel will be difficult for you if your bedroom is located near a hallway window. “It was very interesting. It’s a big house with different rooms. We all share the kitchen, living room, laundry room, pool and deck area. Overall it was pretty good. One thing that did irritated go get it brought our dog and all you can hear is another dog barking 85% of the time.!”

“We had a pleasant stay. Our room had 2 beds and a sitting area with a full balcony. Continental breakfast had a lot of choices and snacks were always out. I would stay there again.”

“Cute little dormer had everything we needed. Much more than a “room rental.” Owners very helpful and anxious to please. Abundance of info given on surrounding areas and dining. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dining options they recommended. We should have paid more attention to the detail that renters need to climb 3 sets of stairs. We did not have a problem with that (other than ground or second floor would have been easier) or but others may. A good experience for us. ”

“This room was across the beach road so there was no ocean view. It was just a short walk to the beach. Room was nice and seemed recently updated. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. The room was clean and had plenty of open space to move around.The staff were friendly and amazing. They welcomed pets with no pet fees. Would stay there again.Would recommend Mia's to everyone looking for a nice inexpensive hotel on OBX.”

“They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.”
