"Swissôtel Nankai Osaka is in a very convenient location - the Namba station provides easy access to multiple train lines to Nara (direct train), Universal Studios (one transfer), KidZania Koshien (one transfer). Walkable distance to the Kuromon Market, shops and restaurants.
Super easy to get to the Kansai Airport (KIX). I traveled with a kid and two big luggages. We took the Rapid express train from/ to KIX to/ from the Nankai Namba station. It was about 35-40 minutes each way. Trains come about twice every hour.
The Rapid train stops at the Nankai Namba station, which is on the third floor of the Swissôtel Nankai Osaka, when one exits from the front of the Rapid train (platform 9), from KIX to Nankai Namba.
Purchase an ICOCA (“IC card”) for transportation. It is widely used in the larger Osaka areas (West Japan). For children under 12 or 13, their IC cards must be purchased in person - the staff check their passport and parents/ guardians need to fill out a quick form (child’s name, etc.). The card has an expiration date (my daughter’s expiration date is the year she will turn 13) and the child’s name. There are likely other locations, but I know the office in KIX (it’s near the Rapid train) and in Nankai Namba (follow signs to the Nankai Namba line).
Google Map and VoiceTra are two must-have app in Osaka.
Have a wonderful trip everyone!"
