"I really enjoyed my stay here, I was here for nearly a whole week. Rooms were kept very clean, staff were great and I had a wonderful view. The only element that really concerned me was the lack security around accessing the hotel and guest spaces. The hotel is a central part of Tokyo dome city, and anyone can access the hotel, that includes the floors that JUST house guest rooms, without a room key. In all other Japanese hotels I stayed in you need a room key to access guest only floors, this is not the case here and I didn't feel that’s safe. The other element is that due to lots of large tour groups being in the hotel rotating in and out, getting a lift can be really hard at times, I had to queue for decent periods of time to either go up to my room, or on my floor I had to let several lifts go past as they were maxed out. I was surprised the hotel didn’t take the luggage up for the tour groups to make this process easier on all guests. But the key room issue was the main thing as a solo female traveler that concerned me. As a result even though I really enjoyed the hotel I wouldn’t opt to stay here again as being safe is the most important thing. To confirm the hotel felt very safe, but this lack of restriction on floor access was surprising and relies on nobody having ill intent."

"We flew to Narita airport, caught the Keisei Skyliner to Ueno Station (where it terminates) and stayed at Hotel Ueno because it was near a number of places like Ueno Park and the hotel itself was about a 10-minute walk from Ueno Station. 😃 Our double room (room 418) was very clean. However, I didnt like where the bed was situated, (right up against the window), so whoever slept next to the window had to climb over the other person to get out of bed - very annoying. Also, our mattress was awful and had dips in it, needed swapping for a new one - I never slept well for our 4-night stay. 😒 Our breakfast at the hotel was ok.I had the American breakfast 4 mornings, got a bit boring. There was salad and soup to choose from. I think the breakfast choices need changing!"

"The hotel was great and in a brilliant location, a quick walk from the station and near convenience stores. It's just off the hustle and bustle of Ikebukaro so you get the buzz and the quiet! I would definitely stay here again"

"The staff were super kind and helpful. I stayed in a female only dorm and my capsule bed was clean and came with a little shelf, outlet, and place to hang clothes and the blackout shade was a plus. There were small lockable lockers for valuables but large luggage had to go under the bed shelf or on the floor. Floor space was a little limited especially when grabbing things from my suitcase though. Bed comfort was average but it was definitely not sound proof as I could hear people rummaging around and talking but that’s typical. Location is right next to the subway and the Sumida River which is a plus. Bathrooms were accessed through the dorm which is a plus so you don’t have to go into the hallway. They were also very clean and came with free towels, hairdryers, and toothbrushes. Bathroom could get a little crowded at certain times but for the most part it was good! Laundry machine was in the bathroom too."
