"Just returned from a 10 day trip to Japan and spent our last night at the Royal Park Shiodome. It was the perfect place to spend our last night. The views from the hotel are incredible so get a room on as high of a floor as possible (we were on 31 and had a great view of the city—specifically, the Shiodome and Minato districts with the canal running through). It’s also in a very convenient location and within walking distance of several trains. 8-9 min walk to Gion and also a 24-hour Don Quijote. :) Family Mart and 7-Eleven are both conveniently a block or two away. It’s a well maintained property and we thought the room was more spacious than your average Tokyo hotel rooms. Very clean too. My only negative was the service at the bar was unprofessional. We sat down around 10:45 to have a drink because the bar doesn’t close until midnight and we wanted to enjoy a drink on our last night while looking at the beautiful views. The staff clearly wanted to close early and kept trying to rush us out, including trying to take a half-full drink we just paid $24 for. There was also a typhoon expected overnight but not a single staff member at the hotel seemed to have any idea about it (or much else)—it was very strange. At a nicer hotel, staff shouldn’t seem so dumbfounded at every single question, including how to get to the airport. Overall though, it’s a great property and we had a nice stay!"
