โCatherine is an excellent host and cook. It was great to enjoy so many items for breakfast that were produced locally. Lots of helpful info and recommendations on things to do in Northern Ireland. The house and grounds are beautiful. Highlight of the trip! โ
โA truly wonderful find! Quiet, convenient, clean well appointed cottage, with attentive, friendly hosts. Good parking, near enough (by car) to the Mourne Mountains, Murlough, Tyrella and Ballykinler beaches and Newcastle. About a 45 min drive from Belfast. A great haven for peaceful outdoor pursuits or just getting away from it all. Will happily stay again! โ
โWe had a wedding in Newcastle and decided to stay in the Avoca that night. I rang in advance to see if we could perhaps get an early check in to suit the early wedding and this was accommodated no problem. The hotel itself lovely and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was beautiful also. If weโre back that way again weโll definitely stay again.โ

The room was spotless, very comfortable, gorgeous views of the garden and surrounding landscape as well.
Breakfast was delicious and very well laid out , with loads of choice !

โThis quaint little cottage off of the entrance to Tollymore Forest is perfect to just get away and mend your mental health. I will definitely be there again, perhaps yearly if I can afford it! Jo is easy to contact and is most helpful with everything. Thank you Jo, you are so loved ๐โ

โWe had the most wonderful stay at Blackwell House in Scarva! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome โ nothing was too much trouble. The house itself is absolutely beautiful, full of charm and character, with every little detail thought of to make guests feel at home. The food was incredible (and plentiful!) and the rooms were spotless, cosy, and luxurious all at once.
Itโs one of those rare places where you can truly switch off and relax, and yet still feel utterly spoiled....
