โCould not imagine a more wonderful stay. Hiking Hadrianโs wall and the Sally was a most wonderful stay. The food was incredible with great vegetarian and gluten free options. The rooms were large and comfortable with very comfortable beds, great water pressure, and all spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, all in a lovely little parish. I highly recommend staying at the Sally. โ
โI had a lovely comfortable stay and the hosts were friendly, helpful and the Breakfast each morning was exceptional.
The layout of my room was slightly unusual and took a little getting used to.โ
โWe recently enjoyed a stay that had both positive aspects and a few areas that could use some improvements
Positive Aspects
One of the highlights of our experience was the **excellent communication from the host**. They were very responsive and provided clear instructions for check-in and check-out, which made the process smooth and hassle-free. It was reassuring to know that we could reach out if we had any questions or concerns during our stay.
Areas for Improvement
While we had a lovely...
โLovely smallish independent hotel in a beautiful village setting. Spacious, comfortable room with good bathroom. Nice, local toiletries. Fantastic cooked breakfast included. Atmospheric bar restaurant. โ
โLangley Castle Hotel is set in the most beautiful countryside, surrounded by tall trees and grassy lawns, where peacocks roam.
The staff were lovely. Professional, friendly and highly efficient. Kaycee on Reception, deserves a special mention because she went over and above what he duties are. She really made our stay perfect. โ
โMark was very accommodating and my room was really big and comfortable
Water pressure very good for having a shower
I only stayed 1 night but I know the area very well and the guest house is a short walk from most places in town but quiet and peaceful guest house location
Penrith is a beautiful picture postcard town and very handy base for traveling to the Lake District
I will certainly be booking again
I didnโt stay for breakfast but the menu look delicious โ
โThe host is a very warm and welcoming lady. The breakfast and the options were excellent. Would definitely book again if i need a place to stay at Carlisle.โ
โThe hotel is ideally situated - while not being in an immediately picturesque location, its proximity to the M6, A66 and Penrith North Lakes railway station make it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District in one direction and Yorkshire in the other. The staff are excellent, particularly in the FYR restaurant: friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is equally impressive and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. โ
โAs a hiker on the Hadrians Wall trail, this venue had everything; good food, good beer and a good drying room. After a wet walk this was most welcome.
This place was very convenient on the Wall trail and would highly recommend. โ
โThe Crown Hotel is nestled in a quiet community near Carlisle. It is located near a train station but also has a parking area (spaces are a bit tight, designed for small cars but filled with larger cars). There is access to a private gym/fitness center on site. There is a lovely garden with seating. The morning breakfast is quite nice with many options. We stayed three nights while we explored Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District. Also, there is a nearby footpath that takes you...
โRooms are older but comfortable and clean. Easy walk over to the Welcome center for breakfast and snack options. Also a fuel station in the same parking.โ
