Rooms are reasonably sized for Japan, good air conditioning (essential in late July), hot high pressure shower and OK sized fridge. They have tea, coffee and hot/cold water available most hours, a nice selection of standard and fruit teas. Breakfast is not a big buffet. There are 6 types of Japanese breakfast “sandwiches” from which you can choose 3 each day, plus you get fruit and granola. "Excellent onsen hotel right at the end of the first day of the Kohechi Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail. I came for the onsen and mountain seclusion, but they had such good maps of the Kohechi at the front desk that I decided to walk back to Koyasan the day I checked out. It’s about 20km through the mountains from Nosegawa Onsen to Koyasan, walking on a mix of well-kept trails and paved roads; overall, a moderately difficult hike with very good signage.
