“From the outside it looks like an old timey 1950’s hotel. However, the rooms and bathrooms have been totally redone inside and they’re beautiful. Would stay again. A hidden gem. A Few good restaurants not far down the street, too. ”

“This is one of the most quaint places I've stayed at. Building was built in early 1900's but has been refurbished inside with modern features but retains the old craftsman look and feel. Our room was larger than I expected. Bathroom was spacious and modern. The sink was smaller than expected but made sense actually. Extremely quiet. Monterey has very little activity. Comfortable cottage with three beds (two bedrooms) and one bathroom, plus view of a picturesque pastoral scene: a field of green grass, white fence, a friendly dog who politely asks to play ball if you like (and leaves you alone if you don’t), and the occasional mooing of the cows in the distance.
