“What a charming building. Beautifully maintained and decorated. The room was lovely, with a nice big bed and plenty of space for 3 of us. Breakfast was lovely. Home-made breads and butter and jams available. Very well run and organised. Would definitely be my go-to choice for my next visit to York.”

“Catherine, the owner, was the perfect hostess with nothing being too much trouble. She even texted to make sure everything was OK and to ensure she was about when I arrived. The room was clean and well provisioned. Breakfast was a full English and cooked fresh. There was also a selection of cereals and fruits. The village is about a mile away and has a convenience store, pub and Indian restaurant.”

“Mel was very helpful.. everything you need and more in the room including a fridge for Milk. Comfy bed . Sky TV and prime for football! Fantastic tasty breakfast ”

“Staying at a working was lovely. Truly local produce, so much home-made stuff. Even a slice of home-made cake on the coffee tray to welcome. Really unique. Dinner was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend.”

“Good location close to the Minster. Room was on the main road side of the building, but we'll sound proofed. Some noise from the bar, but this is expected in a pub. Problem with loss of hot water pressure on the final morning was irritating, but these things happen. Clean and comfortable. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on the food. ”

Staff work cheerfully under the friendly manager dubbed the Queen Bee. Breakfast includes the traditional Those who have trouble with stairs should book the ground floor, those who can manage stairs be prepared for the narrow staircases and light sensors. They only come on only when you’re directly in the range of detection. ”

“Owners of the property make you feel very comfortable and at ease. We stayed in the self-catering apartment but had an amazing breakfast each day. You can come and go without worrying about disturbing anyone. Very clean and comfortable accommodation of high standard. Will definitely be back. ”

“Have never been to a Glamping pod before but would absolutely visit the little hide again. The pod was a good size and had everything we needed. Great location and the showers/ toilets are well kept. Would come back next time and will bring a disposable bbq to use at the shared area.”
