The hotel itself is outdated and in serious need of renovations, starting with the elevators.
The food looks good, but tastes blandโnothing special at all. The drinks were also poorly made.
I made a reservation for three adults: my husband, our 18-year-old daughter, and myself. At check-in, I was told we were being โupgradedโ to a room on the 15th floor. After that, the front desk staff had me fill out a form stating I was receiving the room for freeโsomething I didnโt understand, but we were too tired after a long flight to question it further.
The room only had one bed, despite the reservation being for three adults. I had to return to the front desk and speak with the same person. She said there were no rooms available with two beds that night, but she could move us the next day. I explained we couldnโt sleep three adults in one bed, especially since I paid for three adults.
She then told me that if we switched rooms the following day, we would be left without a room from 12 PM to 3 PM. That made no sense to me, as we were paying for full days, not just specific hours. To make matters worse, they didnโt even offer to bring up a rollaway bed. They say they were supposedly out of beds. The staff member just said, โItโs only one night.โ I had to insist before they finally brought up an extra bed.
We have stayed at different hotels in Cancun with no issues. This was our first time trying out this hotel and it will be our last time.
