“The room was originally quite underwhelming. Parts of the hotel are in desperate need of being refurbished. But they moved me to a different room, and I was very happy with it. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was not included, but well worth the cost. There were plenty of warm options, and they were all delicious - a true English breakfast. “This is a lovely old building is close to everything on the sea front - 5 minutes walk to the Historic Dockyard (it has close views of the Spinnaker, the harbour, and HMS Warrior). The bus and train stations are across the road, and the shopping centre is no more than 10 minutes away. Add the free car park, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and comfortable rooms, plus the big choice of places to eat within half a mile, and you have the ideal hotel to stay in when visiting the Portsmouth area.”

“Very conveniently located for shopping, restaurants, the Historic Dockyard and transport services to the Isle of Wight. Parking was easily accessible and convenient in the very close by multi storey. We did need to move room during the stay due to a water leak from the room next door. We were out for the day when this happened but the staff moved everything and kept us fully informed along the way. Really excellent service! ”
