"the rooms had a smell in them that was not pleasant. we had to switch from another hallway that smelled like turpentine/strong paint type smell. The fan had a whistle that made noise every time it turned on. front desk staff excellent. Lynette was very accommodating in spite of a full room of cancelled flight clients. "

"Rooms are very small and poorly decorated but clean. (Currently property is under renovation, so decor should be updated soon). Pool and hot tub areas clean but definitely showing their age! (Just look old and water feature on the wall has hard water buildup making it look dirty and again old). The 5:30 kickback was a huge plus - hot dogs, nachos with cheese, pulled pork sandwiches, slaw, baked beans, garden salad and chicken soup. Breakfast was equally well-stocked - cereals, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, biscuits and gravies, some pastries, and as a real plus good coffee! Most hotels have weak or bland coffee. This was actually good! Front desk staff was not friendly - or just not there when we went by several times. Maxcine at breakfast was very lovely and pleasant. These were the only hotel staff we saw. The historic aspect of the hotel and the amenities are all lovely, but if you don’t want to use the pool/hot tub, or plan to be in your room for more than just sleep/shower/changing, I would choose a different hotel."
