"Our room was spacious with good scenary. The property was well kept and in very good condition. The only regret we had was booking it for one night. Should have spent at least 2 nights."

"The staff, grounds, and food were all superb. We booked the Open Air Big Stone Bath room type so we had a private hot springs bath in our onsen. It was amazing to get in whenever we wanted, but it may be unnecessary depending on your budget since their public (hotel guests only) open air baths are so spectacular. Also, if you don’t book a room with a private bath, you can reserve a time slot for a private one on the hotel grounds. The time slots will give you access to a private bath, steam spa and bathroom for 40 minutes. We did this for the experience and it was a beautiful and relaxing private bath with forest vegetation to look at. There is a downside to the Gora Kadan but it is still 5 stars for me. I mention it next because I feel it is worth noting. When I first arrived I heard some traffic noise from vehicles and the mountain railway from our room. I was initially discouraged by this but the experience at the hotel that followed muted my disappointment. If I knew about this beforehand, I may not have booked but that would have been a mistake and an amazing experience missed. You may be able avoid the noise if you book one of their higher end rooms. I’m not sure. Absolutely make sure you book a room with in room meals though. I believe at least one of the annex rooms does not have in room meals. At this price point, I often do not feel like we got our moneys worth from our accommodation but with the Gora Kadan we absolutely did. "

"My husband and I would come back here in a heartbeat. We were blown away with the breaktfast and dinner each day. We were so stuffed and impressed by the presentation. We booked the private baths without any issues and we were lucky that each time it was available for us. The staff was so nice and welcoming. They picked us up from the train station and drove us to the closest bus station on our free day in Hakone, we thought that was very helpful because walking to the station would be impossible. "

"We arrived to Hyatt regency hakone and were immediately escorted in and were told they were waiting for us. From that moment on, it was nothing but first class treatment from the entire staff. It was an incredible experience and the staff experience alone should make people run here in droves!! It sadly rained (4.5 inches in one day alone) while we were there but the staff was always helpful with information, alternative advice, and wonderful smiles. Would definitely recommend as they went above and beyond. "

"Amazing stay! All the staff were very kind and helpful. We got the double with the bigger bathtub on the balcony. The room was very clean and spacious. There's beautiful garden in the bottom floor which was perfect for a night stroll after dinner. The kaiseki dinner was good. The breakfast buffet was amazing. There's also a shuttle that takes you to hook station. "
