“Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help.”

“had a lovely stay at the Waterwheel with my husband - an excellent guest-house right in the centre of Ambleside, but still quiet and peaceful. Our room was clean and comfortable with some nice touches such as homemade flapjacks and a glass of port. the service was fantastic and were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. a parking permit for the local car park was also a great bonus. we will definitely stay again next time we are in the Lakes”
