“À la carte breakfast was good. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.. rooms are slightly dated and the carpets could use some upgrading. Overall, our stay was fantastic though.”

“Breakfast was good as was service in hotel. However I wouldn't recommend if going with children/babies. Limited facilities (no fridge in room, limited storage space for unpacking) and pool depth is 1.1m only in small section of pool with limited usage times for children, rest is 1.4m. Location itself was decent -15/20 mins from main centre. Didn't eat lunch/dinner at hotel so can't recommend. Hotel garden was nice. Free parking on site.”

“Excelled as always. Everything about Crabwall Manor is the best. Fantastic grounds, stunning rooms and attentive staff from the reception to the bar staff to housekeeping. Warm welcome on checking in at reception, passed the keys to room 47 and although it doesn’t really have a ‘view’ the enclosed courtyard was nicely presented. The room was vast with enough space to provide the 2 high back chairs without feeling crowded. Bathroom was huge……(only wish was it had a freestanding bath!!!!) and...

“Rooms clean, gym had everything for a usual gym goer, food was really good, but pricy but you get what you pay for. Staff were polite, weren’t always present at the bar or on reception but when they were there they really friendly. Rooms weren’t very soundproof but didn’t matter too much. Jacuzzi was really nice. Overall, would reccomend and visit again. ”

“I have stayed at The Pied Bull twice in the last year when visiting from the US. I stayed in 2 different rooms, a twin and then a double, both in the main building. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The pros are location, being convenient to everything that Chester has to offer including sightseeing, shops and places to eat. The price is also reasonable for being in the city center. The cons are no parking on site, although there are many options within a 10 minute walk from the property....

“It was an average larger hotel but we felt a bit disappointed by our stay, unlikely to return. The room was next to a dual carriage way and noisy with the cars/smelt of petrol fumes, when requesting a change of room we didn’t get much response. The place was generally a bit run down. The breakfast was ok but limited to traditional cereals and an average cooked breakfast- little choice for vegetarians, continentals or those who wish for more healthy options. ”
