Top Northern California Hotel Reviews
Handlery Union Square Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The bathroom light was hard tofind"
Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey Bay
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent location and amenities"
Carmel Bay View Inn
8/10 Good
"Front desk very Kurt when answering questions. Parking for 302 required reversing out of a narrow area. Breakfast was ok."
Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"We totally enjoyed the stay beyond our expectations. The room was huge and well-appointed without shouting luxury, the location was convenient to both Cannery Row and Wharf, and valet parking service was efficient. But the most impressive was the restaurants. We had a dinner at Coastal Kitchen and brunch next day at Schooners. Both were excellent in terms of food, view, atmosphere, and service. The night scene from Coastal Kitchen was most memorable, and the morning sea from the patio deck at Schooners was unforgettable. What was so exciting at Schooners was that the sun was rising from the sea, which in our mind was a mystery because we were on the West Coast where the sun usually sets. Why did it decide to go up from West this morning? The thought entertained us for quite some time. There are not that many hotels that we look forward to going back, but this Monterey Plaza is surely one of them."
Carmel Mission Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Great little modern designed motel right at the edge of Carmel. It's like 5 min from the city center."
Outbound Mammoth
10/10 Excellent
"Loved the layout of the property. Loved the food and drink options. The staff at Bar Sierra were amazing. Some of the fire pits were broken, which was a real bummer, and no one was to be found at the wine bar when we went by to try it. But overall we absolutely loved our stay and will be back again and again."
Club Quarters Hotel Embarcadero, San Francisco
8/10 Good
"Gets the job done. Small room but enough to lay your head. Clean. Cleaning staff did good job ensuring clean sheets and towels daily, which was great."
Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf
10/10 Excellent
"We had an amazing stay. Perfect location. Rooms were great, staff was friendly. Loved the little store, Perfect for grabbing a snack or coffee."
Chancellor Hotel on Union Square
8/10 Good
"The hotel is in an excellent location just a few steps from Union Square, the cable car stop, and the BART train station, not to mention all the clothing stores and food options around it. The room was clean and very comfortable with a refrigerator inside, and I really liked the free cookies, apples, and water in the lobby. However, the service from the lobby staff could be improved, as they misplaced my small suitcase and only found it after checking three times. Management should improve staff training so they follow protocols and do not affect customers. I would stay at the hotel again, but I would be careful with the lobby staff."
