“Beautiful hotel, not sure how it’s classed as a 3* on Expedia when it’s by far the nicest hotel in Newcastle. The rooms are a great size, clean and cosy and you can tell the hotel has thought of the “little things” that set it apart from a generic Hilton esque experience. “Friendly efficient local staff. Excellent breakfast and restaurant food especially the daily specials. Housekeeping excellent. Rooms functional but a bit dated.Parking directly outside courtyard rooms is a bonus for any disabled visitors and access to the main entrance is easy.
The city of Durham ,Beamish Museum and The Auckland Project are all within less than half an hour’s drive. Although just off a busy road the courtyard rooms are quiet with a rural view at the rear . I would use this hotel...
