Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
8/10 Good
"We loved the location of Apex Waterloo. It was in the heart of the city, a block from the train station. Our room was a nice size and we liked having a couch to relax on in the room. The only issues we had were a very slow sink drain, a toilet that didn't flush very well, and a shower that flooded a small section of the bathroom. The room could have used some TLC, especially the carpeting which was in dire need of cleaning. We enjoyed the bar area and the service there was great. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were nice. A strong suggestion would be to get the Apex flag in front of the building replaced. It does not give a good first impression. All in all, we had a nice, comfortable stay at Apex Waterloo. Thanks!"

YOTEL Edinburgh
8/10 Good
"We had a premium king room. The room was about 3 feet bigger than the bed, no place to be other than in the bed. No in room coffee…I know but that’s how I function…but it was free downstairs. A digital heat/air system that had us baffled and cold. On the plus side it was in a quiet area, two blocks off Princess Street and 15 minutes walking from Dean Village. "

Holiday Inn Edinburgh by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Room was small but cozy. Staff kept my medicine refrigerated for me during my stay as there are no refrigerators in room. Parking was easy in the upper lot. We had a light lunch there, food was good and the prices weren’t elevated too much (except a Diet Pepsi is like $5 usd a bottle). Shower operation was ok once they explained how to use the control. Temperature control worked well and the hvac was quiet. In general, the entire hotel was quiet with no traffic noise. Registration desk staff were very friendly and helpful. "

Market Street Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The room was clean, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. They use a memory foam-style mattress topper, so as a side sleeper who moves around a lot, it took a while for it to adjust and reshape. Aside from that, the bed was firm but acceptable.
The room itself was clean, but the view between the hotel rooms really needs attention—especially since there are two windows facing it. Unfortunately, it looked more like a back alley filled with garbage than a pleasant view."

Apex Grassmarket Hotel

"Wonderful Hotel with excellent view "

Hilton Edinburgh Carlton
6/10 Okay
"The breakfast buffet was average. "

Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by The Unlimited Collection
4/10 Poor
"Great location and a really nice welcome from staff. However, very slow service at the bar when there was only a few people in dining area. The bed was extremely hard and the pillows were flat so we slept poorly. We were in a room facing another building so no view and next to the main AC generator so the noise was loud and constant. Other than this, the breakfast was really good with a wide selection but I don’t think we will return."

ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile
8/10 Good
"The location was great and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The room was nice. My only concern was the bathroom. The toilet didn’t flush properly and the floor would remain wet after showering for a very long time (no lip on the shower floor, I assume for handicapped use)."

Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh
8/10 Good
"Great location and close to station. Staff were lovely and offered Prosecco on arrival. Breakfast plenty of choice just hate machines for drinks, prefer the personal touch being older! Only issue was the bed being too firm which caused backache but only stayed one night."
